Home Pool Safety

With the start of warm weather and the Memorial Day weekend, many individuals and families will be flocking to pools, lakes, rivers and oceans. Those having fun in the sun and water this summer should be aware of safety precautions. Here are a few tips on how to keep yourself and family safe while hanging out by the pool.

Home Pools should have these safety items on at all times:

  1. Reaching equipment: such as a reaching pole.
  2. Throwing equipment: such as a ring buoy with line attached.
  3. Extra life jackets: floaties are not a substitute.
  4. Well stocked First Aid kit
  5. Telephone or mobile with emergency numbers posted near by.
  6. Be on the alert for signs of heat-related illness.
